REGISTRATION

Team Registration

Registration is accomplished by completion and submission of the registration form, which may be done at any time prior to the end of November. Registration is confirmed by payment of the registration fee. The registration fee must be paid until 14 January 2022 unless specific permission for later payment has been given by the Directors of the Moot. The registration starts with 15 September 2021 and closes on 25 November 2021.

Arbitrator Registration

The arbitrator registration opens at the beginning of December 2021 and closes mid of January or whenever capacity is reached. Arbitrators who already participated in the Vis Moot before, have already an arbitrator account and can use the “arbitrator login” instead of the “arbitrator registration” which is only meant for arbitrators who are new to the Vis Moot.

MATERIALS FOR THE VIRTUAL HEARINGS

How to give proper feedback to teams? –  a guided video

Starting with the upcoming 29th Vis Moot, we will introduce you to a new, digital scoring system. We will no longer accept hardcopies or PDF forms, instead a scoring link will become available in your arbitrator account 60 minutes after the start of the hearing. In order to make you familiar with the new system, we recommend you to watch the 5 step tutorial.

HEARING SCHEDULE

SOCIAL BUBBLES

Due to the continuing Covid-19 pandemic, we had to take the decision that the oral hearings will again take place virtually. But in order not to miss the great networking opportunity, we are trying our best to set up Social Bubbles.

You will find further information on the Social Bubbles over the next paragraphs.

What is a Social Bubble?

A Social Bubble shall be a meeting place for local teams, coaches and arbitrators. There shall be several Bubbles around the world in order to give as many people as possible the ability to meet in smaller groups for social activities and networking considering travel restrictions and capacity restrictions due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Are the teams allowed to meet for the hearings?

The idea of having “Social Vis Moot Bubbles” is completely separated from the oral hearings. All hearings will take place virtually like in the last two years. Students from different teams shall not meet each other in-person for the hearings as this would give certain teams advantage over those who cannot meet.

Social Events at a Social Bubble

An important factor of the Vis Moot is the networking and social factor. Friendships and bonds created during the Vis Moot week accompany the students throughout their professional career and sometimes even become a lifelong friendship. That’s why the idea of the Social Bubbles was born. Teams and Arbitrators shall be able to mingle in smaller groups at networking events organised by the Social Bubble Administration, other local institutions or law firms that support the Vis Moot. Participants should be offered to meet and watch the livestream of the official Vis Moot Social Events.

Social Bubble Locations

Location of the Social Bubble in Vienna

It’s headquarter is the Dachgeschoss of the Juridicum (Faculty of Law of the University of Vienna), Schottenbastei 10-16, 1010 Vienna. Due to Covid-19 regulations, every attendee is requested to make a registration to visit the headquarter at the Juridicum. Furthermore, please be advised, that there are additional Covid-19 precautions required. They are outlined in the last paragraph. Besides, the headquarter, smaller locations around it have been secured for some side events. Details can be found under “Social Events”.

Opening hours for the Social Bubble in Vienna

The headquarter of the Vienna Social Bubble is open from April 9-14. The daily opening hours will be announced closer to the oral hearings.
